The Apple Studio Display and Pro Display XDR are two monitors that Apple still sells today. For professional use such as film editing, the Pro XDR, priced at RM19,999, may be more suitable than the Studio Display, which starts at RM6,999. In the future, Apple is reportedly coming with two new monitors.
One monitor is said to be the successor to the Studio Display. It will come with the codename J427 and is expected to arrive in late 2025 or early 2026. This means it will have a size of around 27-inches, a webcam with a built-in Center Stage, speakers with spatial audio, a 5K resolution IPS display and a variety of stand options. The second monitor is said to be codenamed J427. It is an alternative model, but it is not certain if it is the new Pro Display XDR or a new model monitor.
When I tested the Mac Mini with the M4 chip, I paired this powerful little computer with the Studio Display. It's one of the best monitors I've ever used and if Apple calls it a mid-range display, for me it's a premium one. So, I can't wait to see what new monitors Apple has to offer. Maybe a Studio Display with tvOS as a smart monitor? What do you think?
