Apple TV+ is a video streaming service by Apple, including a number of television series and movies through it. The latest, according to a report by The Information, Apple TV+ is said to be losing over $1 billion every year.
It is said that in 2024, Apple TV+ had around 45 million paid subscribers. It is not known how many subscribed to it separately, and how many received Apple TV+ access through the Apple One subscription bundle.
In addition, Apple is also seen to face challenges in attracting more users to use their video streaming service – compared to Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+ Hotstar. One of the reasons is because its catalog is still low, besides Apple does not seem to focus on local content through their offerings.
Anyway, it can be said that a loss of $1 billion is low for Apple, which generates higher profits than various other service providers in the market.
