Yesterday we reported that a few Pixel 9 users were experiencing an alarm clock not sounding. This caused many users to miss their sahur or be late to work. On the Apple Watch, now when the clock is muted (in Silent mode) the alarm will sound.
In the watchOS 11.4 update, Apple has updated Silent Mode for the Apple Watch. Previously, silent mode would change to a notification notification via vibration only. This new update allows alarms to sound even when the clock is muted. Those using Apple Watch with watchOS 11.4 will have the option to set an alarm with Break Through Silent Mode. No matter what time it is and where, your watch is silent – the alarm will sound to remind yourself or wake you up.
