Two weeks ago, Apple launched its new generation basic iPad with the A16 chip. It is the same chip used in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15, so there is no Apple Intelligence support with this iPadOS tablet that starts at RM1,599. However, for the sake of productivity and the chip itself is really powerful – Apple has added other support that will definitely benefit creative users in the field who want to save money.
If you are a video editor and use the iPad for basic editing or just reviewing project files, the new basic iPad now supports the video editing app Final Cut Pro. The App Store page has just been updated to add a sentence that this app requires an iPad with iPadOS 17.6 or above and an M-series chip or A16 chip or above. As before, the Final Cut Pro app is free to use but there is a subscription to access the full features and functionality.
Will you buy an iPad priced at RM1,599 to use Final Cut Pro?
