Batik Air has now updated their service policy to ensure safety in flights. Through the latest policy update, each passenger can bring a maximum of 2 powerbanks on flights, and not exceeding 20,000mAh or 100Wh.
The powerbank carried must also be with the passenger at all times, and cannot be stored in luggage or bags in the cabin. At the same time, the powerbank cannot be used during the cabin or flight. Passengers are also asked to be more careful if they also bring a powerbank with auto-magnetic support.
Various airlines are now taking more precautions regarding the use of powerbanks in flights, after there was a fire incident on an Air Busan flight earlier this year. In addition to Batik Air, Singapore Airlines also recently issued similar instructions.
