Bitcoin's value fell sharply today, plunging to a low of $86,138 (~RM380,000) compared to a high of $106,449 (~RM469,652) reached on December 16 last year. This is the lowest value since 2025 began and bucked the upward trend that occurred after Donald Trump won the United States presidential election on November 6.
Previously, when Donald Trump became President of the United States, the value of various cryptocurrencies increased sharply - in line with expectations that many were targeting cryptocurrency-friendly policies by the new President of the United States.
This fall in Bitcoin's value is said to be related to macroeconomic conditions, in line with various markets including stocks showing declines.
Along with Bitcoin, various other cryptocurrencies also experienced a decline, including Solana, Ethereum, Cardano and others.
