CIMB has now issued a new notice specifically for Google Wallet users using the CIMB MasterCard credit card. CIMB asks users who use CIMB Mastercard credit cards to use a physical card for payments beyond RM250.
This also shows that Google Wallet or Google Pay users need to use a physical card for more than RM250 transactions and cannot use virtual or digital payments.
Initially, CIMB planned to introduce a verification feature using face scan, fingerprint or digital wallet path for transactions exceeding RM250. However, the feature is now seen as delayed, and users need to use a physical card for transactions over RM250, and cannot use Google Pay at this time.
CIMB says they will share more updates on Google Wallet for CIMB - but do not mention any time for it.
