Not all AI chatbot services support Internet search. Some only process information and generate responses based on trained data sets, such as DeepSeek R1. Recently, Anthropic has added Internet search support to Claude using the Claude 3.7 Sonnet model.
Anthropic currently limits Internet search access to paid users only. Users also cannot choose to do Internet searches themselves, instead Claude will determine whether it needs the latest data to help users. According to Anthropic, this feature is suitable for marketing teams to conduct research by obtaining the latest market data and trends. Or for users who want to do a more in-depth product price comparison.
This Internet search feature on Claude is also limited to users in the United States for now. Anthropic promises that they will expand this feature to free users and to all countries soon.
