Last week, we reported that Samsung Foundry is focusing on the design and production of their Samsung Exynos 2600 processor chips, which are currently built using the SF2 process, for use in Samsung Galaxy S26 devices.
Recently, it was reported by South Korean economic news site The Bell that Samsung will need to complete the chip design by Q3 2025 to ensure that it can be used in the device. This is because if not, it will cause another incident like this year where the Samsung Galaxy S25 used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip to power their flagship device.
In fact, for this year, it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 that will be launched this year will use the same chip, and only the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE will be introduced as an affordable foldable device that will use the Samsung Exynos 2500 chip when production is sufficient for the device.
The focus on the production and use of the Samsung Exynos 2600 chip is seen as very important for Samsung Foundry, especially as it will shape the future of the division to the continuity of Samsung's semiconductor chip production business.
If this processing chip is successfully used, and shows impressive performance, it is expected that more technology companies will use Samsung's services to manufacture their semiconductor chips in the near future.
Samsung is said to need to complete the design and development of the Exynos 2600 processing chip by the middle of the third quarter of 2025 to ensure that it can be manufactured and used in the Samsung Galaxy S26 device that will be launched early next year.
