The final version of the open source graphics software GIMP 3.0 is now available for download by the public after the release of GIMP 3.0 Release Candidate 1 last November. This alternative application to Adobe Photoshop can be downloaded for those who want free open source image editing and graphics creation software. It is the first update to GIMP in seven years.
GIMP 3.0 brings several changes such as the tool icons on the interface now using SVG format. Through SVF, the icons will be displayed more clearly and sharply regardless of the screen resolution GIMP is used. The application also supports higher resolutions than previous versions.
Color management has also been improved to ensure that colors in the application are accurate to the real color. Another new feature is support for non-destructive editing of original images, which was introduced for the first time. Also improved is better support for TIFF and BMP plugins.
