Google Deletes Google Maps Timeline Data for Some Users

Google has now started notifying Google Maps Timeline users, saying they have deleted the user's visit timeline data that is usually stored on Google Maps. This involves a number of users.

Google itself has started emailing users and informing them of this matter. Our own review shows that there is no data stored on Google Maps Timeline for before March 14, 2025.

Users can restore the lost data if they have activated the backup support on Google Maps Timeline.

This data loss may be disappointing for many users, where you cannot check back the places and locations you have visited before. For those of you who actively use Google Maps Timeline, maybe it's time for everyone to activate the cloud backup so that your data is not lost in the future.
