Google Founder Says Returning to Working from the Office Completely Is Key to AGI Race

Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, is ready to return to the company's operations, especially focusing on the development of artificial intelligence over the past year or two. This step is taken to ensure that Google does not fall behind in the artificial intelligence arena race, not to mention the surprise offering of ChatGPT since 2022.

Recently, through a New York Times report, the Google founder sent a memo asking all employees to return to the office to work, which is expected to help Google win and lead the race to reach the AGI phase.

This AGI phase is said by many to be the phase where artificial intelligence can operate on par with human thought.

In addition to returning to the office completely, Sergey Brin said that working around 60 hours a week is a good point for productivity.

This partnership has received various different reactions and feedback from the public.

For your information, currently, Google requires their employees to work at least 3 days a week in the office. However, various technology companies have started to re-enforce the directive to work entirely from the office recently. The memo sent by Sergey Brin is said to not be an official directive, but rather a sharing of the founder's views on ensuring Google leads the artificial intelligence arena.
