Google Reportedly Downgraded Pixel 9 Demo Unit Performance to Boost Pixel 9 Pro Sales

The Google Pixel is a popular device that offers many exclusive Android features. However, after collaborating with Samsung and Galaxy devices that received many interesting features first – Samsung devices are seen as the best Pixel alternative. This may be the reason for Pixel 9 sales which are reported to be declining compared to the previous generation.

Recently, Google reportedly has a new strategy in selling Pixel 9. Pixel 9 demo units in physical stores were reportedly downgraded in performance. Even though the screen is set to 120Hz, it still feels like 60Hz or slower. This indirectly makes people buy the more expensive Pixel 9 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro XL because the demo units have no performance issues with the 120Hz screen mode.

However, this is just speculation, because it does not only happen at the Google Store but also at other physical stores that officially sell Pixel. I still have not seen this happening at Maxis or CelcomDigi stores when I recently stopped by there. Have you ever experienced this when trying out the Google Pixel 9 in a physical store?
