Google today has officially announced that they will fully replace Google Assistant with Gemini this year. Google says this transition will be made in stages in the coming months.
Next, Google Assistant will no longer be offered to download at the end of 2025. However, Google makes an exemption that Google Assistant will be maintained for users who use the device with less than 2GB of RAM, or run the Android 9 or previous version.
Google Assistant has previously been offered as a virtual assistant on Google devices. However, with Gemini's introduction, it offers a better experience, in addition to the use of artificial intelligence that allows it to communicate by understanding the context.
Google also says they will bring Gemini's experience to many other devices such as tablets, speakers, televisions, cars and more. Meanwhile, Google Assistant will continue to power the devices.
