With the abundance of electric cars in the local market offered in the sedan, SUV and MPV classes, there is certainly fierce competition in the class, but today JAC brings something different when announcing the first 4×4 electric pickup truck to be sold in the local market.
The JAC T9 EV is an electric pickup truck built based on the same T9 model but using diesel fuel. Sharing the chassis and basic structure, the JAC T9 EV electric pickup truck is a four-wheel drive vehicle that offers comfort such as a 10.4-inch inforia display that supports Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, a 50W wireless charger, a 7-inch driving screen display, 5 driving modes, and is also complete with level 2 self-driving functions.
In terms of specifications, the JAC T9 EV has an 88 kWh LFP battery that provides a travel distance of 340 KM WLTP. The 88kW DC fast charging allows for 15-80% charging in as fast as 45min. AC charging from 15-100% will take 8 hours and 30 minutes. It has two electric motors that provide 220kW of power and a maximum torque of 516nm, and has a maximum speed of 140 km/h.
The JAC T9 EV is priced at RM 199,888 and will come with a 6-year or 200,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. JAC also stated that the price of the T9 EV will remain the same until the end of the year, which is a commendable move. If you are not interested in electric cars because of their classification, the JAC T9 EV may be suitable for those of you who want an electric pickup.
