The NVIDIA Graphics Technology Conference (GTC) is underway, and NVIDIA has made some exciting announcements regarding its latest graphics card offerings powered by Blackwell processing chips.
For sectors that require powerful computing and computing power, NVIDIA has announced that they will be launching the NVIDIA RTX Pro series of graphics cards that use the Blackwell graphics processing chip option, similar to that featured in the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5000 series of graphics cards.
Like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5000 series of graphics cards, the NVIDIA Blackwell RTX Pro series of graphics cards will come with design offerings for various form factors, such as desktop-class graphics cards, laptops, and even data center graphics cards.
According to NVIDIA, the Blackwell RTX Pro series of graphics cards will use graphics chips such as the GB202, GB203, and GB205 featured in the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 series of graphics cards, but will have a much higher amount of memory.
If an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card is seen to have 24GB of GDDR7 memory, NVIDIA says that these new RTX Pro graphics cards, which will come with model names such as RTX Pro 6000, will come with up to 96GB of GDDR7 memory built in, where NVIDIA will use a “clamshell” design where there are memory chips built into both sides of the card’s circuit board.
It was also announced that depending on the configuration and design of the graphics card, the amount of built-in memory will come in different amounts, even though it is seen using the same model name. For example, the RTX Pro 6000 graphics card will come with 96GB of GDDR7 memory, but for the laptop model, it is expected to come with 24GB of GDDR7 memory.
The NVIDIA RTX Pro graphics card series is seen to benefit the professional sector, including use for data centers, machine learning, AI inference, faster and more efficient 3D graphics processing and for complex calculations by universities and research centers.
This latest series of professional graphics cards also appears to be coming with new branding. As we mentioned earlier, the NVIDIA RTX Pro name will be used, which will see model names like RTX Pro 6000, RTX Pro 5000, and so on.
