The Opera One web browser has been updated with the integration of Bluesky, Discord, and Slack directly into the sidebar. This means that all three platforms can be accessed locally without the need for users to open additional tabs or applications on their computers. The integration was made by Opera after receiving feedback from Opera One users who wanted to make it easier to manage various messaging platforms.
The sidebar is a menu on the left side of the screen every time Opera One is launched. Previously, it supported the integration of WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, TikTok, and X. The integration of various social media and messaging platforms is not a new idea. It was pioneered by the RockMelt web browser in 2009 before its development was discontinued in 2013 after being acquired by Yahoo.
For those looking for a lighter web browser that is more concerned with mental health, Opera Air is also offered by Opera. Opera Air provides reminders to meditate, take breaks, and teaches users to regulate their breathing before fighting the old fox.
