Panasonic has announced its latest high-resolution full-frame mirrorless camera, the LUMIX S1RII. It features a 44.3MP BSI CMOS sensor with an updated image processing engine. According to Panasonic, the sensor delivers high resolution and is designed to capture fine details. It is also combined with a built-in IBIS system that provides up to eight stops of stabilization.
With a faster hybrid autofocus system, the LUMIX S1RII is also able to improve subject tracking and focus accuracy. It also has the ability to automatically detect and set focus on a wide range of subjects, including animals, cars, motorcycles and more.
The LUMIX S1RII can also capture full-resolution 12-bit RAW still images at up to 40 frames per second using its electronic shutter. It can also capture up to 10 frames per second (or nine when shooting 14-bit RAW images) using the “High Speed Plus” mode of its mechanical shutter. In addition to offering a high resolution mode that can capture still images at 177MP making it suitable for situations that require very high quality details.
Recording capabilities are up to 8K30P, and a variety of other recording options include 5.8K Apple ProRes RAW HQ / ProRes RAW. At the same time, it is equipped with features such as V-Log and V-Gamut, which provide a wide dynamic range and the ability to correct color in videos.
Also complementing the LUMIX S1RII camera is a 3” LCD panel and an OLED viewfinder with 5.76 million dots. The camera is also equipped with both UHS II and Express Type B SD card slots for flexible data storage. In addition, videos can also be recorded via an external SSD drive using the USB-C port. It also has a full-size HDMI port for connection to other devices if necessary.
The new LUMIX S1RII will be available at the end of March for $3299.99 (~RM15,248).
