The Samsung 9100 PRO SSD storage was officially launched in Malaysia this week, about a month after it was announced. The SSD has a read speed of up to 14,800 MB/s and a write speed of 13,400 MB/s. This is up to 99% faster than the 990 PRO which has a speed of 7,450 MB/s / 6,900 MB/s. This speed increase is achieved because the 9100 Pro uses a PCIe 5.0 interface compared to the PCIe 4.0 on the 990 Pro.
In Malaysia, it is sold in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB versions and options with or without a heat sink. The selling price starts at RM679 for the 1TB version. When compared to the previous 990 Pro, the selling price of the 9100 Pro is cheaper as the 990 Pro was sold at a starting price of RM1099 (1TB) three years ago.
The previously announced 8TB version will only be available starting next June. This SSD can be purchased starting April 4, 2025 via Samsung's official online store, Samsung's official stores on Lazada and Shopee, and selected branches. The price list by model is as follows.
