Earlier this year, at CES 2025, Qualcomm showcased its latest laptop processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X, as an offering for the affordable laptop series, compared to the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus series.
The Snapdragon X chip comes with an octa-core design with a maximum speed of 3Ghz. The chip comes with a 4nm build, and offers AI performance of 45 TOPS. The chip also promises efficient and long battery life, allowing users to use the device for a longer period of time. Qualcomm says the Snapdragon X chip is better than the Intel Core 5 120U chip.
At the Snapdragon Southeast Asia Summit today, Qualcomm introduced the Qualcomm Snapdragon X series of chip offerings to the media in Southeast Asia. In Malaysia, laptop models such as the ASUS Zenbook A14 and ASUS Vivobook 14/16 with this processor have already started to be offered, and it is expected that more laptops powered by the Snapdragon X chip will be shown in the future.
In the meantime, Microsoft has also confirmed that the Qualcomm Snapdragon X series of processing chips passes the Copilot+ PC standard, and is the same as the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X series of chips and can use AI features on the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system such as Copilot, Recall, Image Creator, Live Captions and so on natively.
