Samsung has been winning the hearts of device manufacturers for several years now with its 200 Megapixel camera sensors HP3, HP5, and HP9. In the future, Sony will be a new competitor as it is ready to offer a better sensor that may be introduced this year.
This Sony camera sensor is said to have a larger size than Samsung's current 1/1.3-inch sensor. The use of a 200MP sensor is seen as a favorite compared to the 1-inch 50MP sensor. This new Sony sensor is said to be used in flagship devices with the Dimensity 9500 chip and/or Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
With flagship devices focusing on using 200MP camera sensors and no longer chasing after 1.0-inch sensors – maybe now it's the turn of mid-range devices to use this more powerful sensor. Or who knows, the cost of a 200MP sensor is cheaper – both flagship and mid-range devices can use the same sensor. Let's wait and see.
