The use of smart rings may be the new wearable device trend. It's just that because the marketing of such products has not been widespread, its popularity has not yet been achieved. The latest is a ring that is currently in the research and testing stage, SpellRing, which can translate sign language into text.
Whether or not you've watched a television program such as the announcement of the start of Ramadan, there will be a small window displaying an individual delivering the same announcement in sign language. This sign language is for people who are hearing and speech impaired. SpellRing is a ring for such people to wear, and every time sign language is done it can be translated into digital text that is displayed via an application on a smartphone.
SpellRing is a project by researchers at Cornell. Currently it is still in the project and testing stage, so it is not ready for the market. This ring is also limited to American Sign Language (ASL) and has not been expanded to other sign languages. This ring uses a combination of AI and micro sonar technology to translate finger movements into text.
