The majority of AI were found to have two similar weaknesses as elementary schoolgirls

According to researchers at Deepmind, there are 5 levels of general intelligence (AGI) with artificial intelligence (AI) now reaching level 1. As the existing AI model is smarter than most people in producing facts and researching, researchers from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland have found that the majority of AI have the same weaknesses as primary school boys.

Ai is found to be difficult to read analog clock face and calendar content. When asked to read the analog clock hours, AI only gives the right answer at 25%. The difficulty of reading increases when the clock has an unconventional design and the clock is using Roman numbers.

When asked to find a holiday and a future date on the calendar, AI is best to make a mistake every 1 in 5 times. This University of Edinburgh study shows that the existing AI model still needs more multimodal training so that the clock and calendar readings are better than primary school. This study paper will be presented at the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) in Singapore on April 28, 2025.
