Yesterday we reported that Meta was considering separating Reels into its own app and service to compete with TikTok. Today, TikTok announced that they have updated their website for the best desktop experience – possibly to compete with YouTube.
The new update brings a modular interface, a revamped For You feed, a new Explore tab, a full-screen live video viewing experience, and a dedicated web video player. The new interface is clearly easier to use, more user-friendly, and less cluttered.
The update also brings a new feature just for viewing a collection of your favorite videos organized by category. The new video player feature is only available on Chromium-based web browsers. However, web browsers like Arc Browser only support picture-in-picture mode from within the TikTok website and cannot be used on other websites like Chrome.
