If you haven’t been following the news about Google Messages and RCS, you may have missed that Google has added a pretty smart security feature. It is a warning system if users receive and want to send inappropriate content.
To make this feature work, it needs to be processed from within the device so that all data is encrypted and not processed in the cloud. Because of this, recently to activate this feature on Android devices, a new system application has started to appear, namely Android System SafetyCore. In the listing on the Play Store, SafetyCore is stated to be a system application to handle security features on Android devices.
In Google Messages, the RCS messaging feature now includes Sensitive Content Warning to curb the problem of inappropriate content spreading. Now if a user receives a message with such content, it will be obscured in real time by the system and a warning message will be given for the user’s information. The same warning will also come out if the user wants to send a message with this content. For the recipient, the message will also be attached with a link for additional information about the risks of receiving the message.
Android System SafetyCore will also help users avoid receiving various spam messages via RCS. This feature will be rolled out to all Android devices, including Android Go.
