With the iPhone 16, the trend of introducing additional physical buttons on smartphones is starting to be followed. Oppo Find X8 Pro already has it, Samsung Galaxy S25 power button is AI button and Nothing Phone (3a) is with Essential Key. Coming soon, after skipping on Xiaomi 15 – Xiaomi will add an additional button on Xiaomi 16.
The function of this button is not explained but it is rumored to be in the middle. The device will also be designed to be lighter, in addition to having the ability to handle heat well. Sources expect, if this button is added – 100mAh battery capacity will be reduced on the device. Sources expect this button to be for various functions and not limited to just AI or camera.
Xiaomi 15 may not include this button because it uses more or less the same design since Xiaomi 12. For Xiaomi 16, sources say it may be launched around October. Let's all wait and see.
