You Can Now Call Copilot to Control Android Devices

AI agent features on generative artificial intelligence chatbots are starting to become a trend. It is a feature where AI services can perform complex tasks with just a simple call. Most of these features are still in the concept, prototype or expensive paid feature phase. Recently, Copilot by Microsoft started offering more or less the same feature for users to control Android devices.

By simply calling Copilot on a Windows device, users can instruct it to perform tasks on Android devices. According to Windows Latest, Copilot now supports Phone Connection for it to control Android devices such as creating an alarm, reading messages, or opening maps. Unfortunately, its use is very inefficient and does not help users because each command requires a second confirmation for it to be initiated. This directly makes this feature useless when users still have to open and press something on the smartphone.

According to sources, this feature is indeed expected to be launched in February 2025 for Copilot+ PC devices. However, after trying to use it, it was unstable and even reading messages did not get the latest messages. However, for what it can do, I'm pretty excited that the virtual assistant on Windows devices can control my Android device. The Copilot AI agent on Windows devices is like a lazy, lagging worker. It may need an update to make it really work.
