Meta AI is a multi-modal generative artificial intelligence technology that is now built into Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. It is also the AI in Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. This AI has been confirmed to be coming to the Malaysian market, but until today it is still not visible. In the future, users who already have access to Meta AI can use it to generate comments on Instagram as well.
This feature appears on Instagram and there will be the text “Write with Meta AI”. It states that Meta will analyze photos and faces to identify what is appropriate. Several comment suggestions will be generated for users to choose and send or edit first. In the comments section, before writing if there was previously the text “Comment as [username]” – it now suggests context for comments related to the content being shared.
Previously, I had come across the feature of generating comments with AI on Facebook. At that time it was still in the early stages of development, where the comments section would suggest emojis or sentences based on the context of the content shared for the comment. When it will be widely distributed to all Meta services is still unknown.
