YouTube Shorts Views Will Be Counted Even If Users Scroll to Skip

I think TikTok's popularity is being feared by YouTube. Little by little, more or less similar features and functions are being integrated into Shorts. Most recently, to attract the attention of the public and also content creators – YouTube is changing how Shorts views are counted according to Reels and TikTok counts.

Starting March 31, 2025, even if users scroll and skip the Shorts video that appears, it will be counted as watched. This will indirectly give the illusion that many people have watched the shared video, when in fact they are just scrolling to find other videos. However, how content creators count still follows views that involve interactions between viewers and videos such as comments, likes, shares and so on.
