The 4Chan website has been hacked and is currently inaccessible. The attack occurred about 6 hours ago and then the moderators’ personal data was leaked to the web arena. Among the leaked data were names, account passwords, emails and residential addresses. However, the authenticity of this leaked data has not yet been confirmed.
Since its launch in 2003, 4Chan has become a gathering place for people who call themselves Anon. It was one of the earliest places to discuss various topics that were considered sensitive. The site became widely known after Anon launched several anti-social activities such as causing chaos in the Habbo Hotel world, holding a demonstration in front of the Scientology headquarters and hacking attacks in the name of Julian Assange.
So it is surprising that the site of the world’s most prominent hacker group has now fallen victim to unknown hackers. As the site disruption continues, we will update this news from time to time.
