Apart from NVIDIA, AMD has also announced that they are no longer allowed to sell their AI components to the Chinese market. The component that is seen to be most affected by the trade restrictions is the AMD MI308 AI processing chip.
AMD expects that they will suffer a loss of about $800 million due to these restrictions, and it is a rather big issue for AMD as the Chinese market is their second largest market, generating revenue of $6.23 billion, or about 24 percent of the company's total sales.
AMD has said that one way to overcome these trade restrictions is to obtain export licenses for their products, but at the moment it seems that there is no certainty whether this export license will be granted to them or not.
