Android Devices Will Reboot If Locked for More Than 3 Days for Security

To improve the level of device security, Android devices will now reboot if detected to be unlocked for three consecutive days. After the device is turned on again, to access the content of the pin number must first be entered with the biometric system deactivated.

The update was provided via Google Play 25.14 with this feature noticed by 9to5Google. This new security system is similar to what Apple gave to the iPhone last year with iOS 18. Authorities noticed that the seized iPhones randomly rebooted. The content can only be accessed after the pin number is entered. Without the pin, the data on the device is encrypted making it harder to read.
