Automattic, the company behind WordPress, WooCommerce and Tumblr, has now announced a 16% reduction in employees, affecting nearly 280 employees at the company. Most of the affected employees are said to be involved in the WooCommerce division.
This restructuring step is said to be necessary due to the increasingly competitive market, in addition to the faster rate of technological evolution than ever before.
