ERL Confirms KLIA Express Service Issues Due to Cable Theft

For the past two days, on 8 and 9 April 2025, the KLIA Express and KLIA Transit train services have been experiencing service disruption issues throughout the two days, and the incidents occurred due to not one, but four incidents where electrical cables along the KLIA Express route were stolen.

The first incident occurred on 8 April at 6.20am at KM48.5 between Salak Tinggi Station and KLIA Terminal 1. The second incident occurred on the same evening at 5.52pm at KM43.1 between Salak Tinggi Station and Cyberjaya/Putrajaya and this caused 7-10 minute delays for all trains on the route.

Not only that, the third and fourth incidents occurred the next day, the morning of 9 April 2025 around the same areas and forced Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd to use bus services to send passengers to their destinations at KL Sentral or KLIA 1 and KLIA 2.

Despite this incident, KLIA Ekspres said that their train services had been fully restored yesterday evening. They are reportedly working with the police to find out who is behind this cable theft incident.
