I haven't actively used Facebook in over a decade because Mark Zuckerberg's algorithm has caused viral content and junk to be spewed into your timeline even if it's irrelevant. Today Facebook announced that they are introducing a special tab that will only display updates from your friends.
Through this tab, any updates, status uploads, birthdays, stories, and reels from friends can be read locally. It won't be tainted by the viral content recommendations that we're sure discourage many from using Facebook. At this point, this tab for friends will be activated for users in the United States and Canada first to be tested before being rolled out to users globally.
The introduction of this tab is in line with Zuckerberg's promise earlier this year to restore the "OG Facebook" experience in the early years of the social media site.
