First Look at the Infinix Note50 Pro+ 5G – Now Even More Interesting

The Infinix Note50 Pro+ 5G will hit the Malaysian market on April 22, 2025. This smartphone is expected to attract many people with its latest features. I had the opportunity to see this device early, and share my initial views on it.

Although the information that can be shared may not be comprehensive, it feels like it can give the public an early impression of the attractive offers available on the Note 50 Pro+ 5G device.

What's in the Box?

In terms of packaging, it looks interesting with game elements where one of the characters from Mobile Legends is used as decoration. However, the design is just an external decoration because inside there is another box with the Note 50 Pro+ 5G branding.

When opened, there is an additional box containing the device frame, user manual, warranty guarantee, and VIP card. Apart from that, the smartphone itself is in the box and I received the Note50 Pro+ 5G in dark purple. Interestingly, the phone frame also comes in the same color and is suitable for use with MagSafe. In addition, the box also comes with a charger head and cable that completes the purchase package with accessories needed by users.

One thing that is interesting is that Infinix also provides a separate screen protector. This means that users need to attach it themselves according to their needs. I recommend that this screen protector be installed first because it can be a useful additional feature to protect against scratches during daily use.

Design and Screen

The Note 50 Pro+ 5G is one of the latest models from the Infinix brand that comes with interesting updates. In this initial view, I like the overall design of this device. It is completely flat whether on the front, back or side frame. Praise can also be given to Infinix for being able to produce such a premium-feeling build.

This device feels a bit heavy when held but not to the point of being inconvenient. In fact, holding the Note 50 Pro+ 5G provides an experience as if holding a flagship device from leading brands. Its premium design, good weight and solid finish give it a sense of exclusivity that is rarely found in devices of its class.

Infinix Note 2023

To be honest, it has been a long time since I have reviewed an Infinix device. The last model I tried was the Infinix Note 2023, and when given the opportunity to try it this time, the experience was much different. This change clearly shows that Infinix is no longer the small brand I used to know but is increasingly standing out with better quality and offers.

Inifinix also actually has a strong influence especially for those looking for a balance between performance and price. With various models that offer attractive specifications such as quality cameras, long-lasting batteries, and modern designs at affordable prices, it has become a brand that attracts many people's attention. In addition, Infinix is also increasingly showing innovation in their technology, making it a brand to watch out for.

However, Infinix still has weaknesses in terms of software updates. If software updates are a priority, then it feels like it is time to consider offerings from brands that are more consistent in terms of support.

The Note50 Pro+ 5G this time comes with a metal-based build that feels more solid when held. Initial experience using it also feels good, and the durability of the materials used also makes it feel comfortable in the hand. I also carried it throughout a work trip in China, and I admit it feels good without giving any extreme issues.

The right side of the device houses the power button, which also functions as a One-Tap Query supported by DeepSeek R1. That's right, you read it correctly because the Note50 Pro+ 5G comes with built-in support for DeepSeek R1. It can be activated by pressing the power button for a few seconds before asking the question you want to ask.

In a brief test that I did, this system worked well including when used in Malay. The answers provided looked realistic, and were accompanied by several sources from various parties. However, an internet connection is required to use this feature. The audio adjustment button is located on the left in an easily accessible position.

In terms of sound, the device is equipped with a JBL stereo audio system, which should be able to provide a better audio experience. In addition, a red emitter is also included at the top of the device. The bottom also houses another speaker, as well as a dual Nano-SIM slot.

The phone's screen is 6.78-inches with FHD+ resolution for clear content display. In addition, an AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate is also included to ensure responsive animation transitions. The device also supports an in-screen fingerprint scanner, as well as a face scanning function for added security. It also passes the IP64 rating, which means it is water and dust resistant.

Hardware And Software

In terms of hardware, I can't share information about the processor chip used at the moment. However, I will discuss it further in an upcoming review article. Moving on to the memory and storage aspects, this device comes with a memory option of up to 12GB of RAM, as well as 256GB of internal storage, which is also accompanied by Virtual RAM of up to 12GB of RAM. It can be changed manually according to each use.

In addition, the device runs XOS 15 software based on Android 15, as well as AI-based features such as Folax, which can help with screen content recognition, language translation, deleting objects in pictures, AI Gaming with XBoost, and more. It also has Bio-Active Halo AI Lighting that offers several functions such as notifications, incoming calls, summoning virtual assistants, and charging on the device. The function can also be used to monitor heart rate, and blood oxygen levels.

Battery And Charging

This device packs a 5,200mAh battery, as well as 100W wired fast charging. In the meantime, it also supports 50W wireless charging, in addition to supporting Bypass Charging meaning that energy from the charger is sent directly to the phone system without going through the battery first. As mentioned earlier, the charging head with cable is provided in the purchase box.

Conclusion

Infinix is now much different than before. The Note 50 Pro+ 5G comes with interesting improvements and better features. From the build quality to the hardware, every aspect of this device has been improved to provide a better user experience.
