The Android 12 and Android 12L operating systems will no longer be officially supported by Google. According to Android Authority, in the latest Android security bulletin, both operating systems will no longer receive security patches. On older devices, security patches can now only be provided by device developers, as FairPhone did.
The end of support occurs even though Android 12 was launched in 2021 while Android 12L was launched in early 2022. For users who are concerned about the security of their devices, you are advised to update the device's operating system or replace the device immediately.
Because this operating system is still relatively new, there are around 30% of devices still using it based on data shared by Google a year ago. The current percentage is unknown because Google no longer shares it monthly like it did a few years ago.
