Google Gemini Live With Camera Support Will Be Provided Free To All

Last week the Gemini Live feature that supports camera use was activated for Gemini Advanced customers. This feature is interesting because Gemini can understand what it sees and then provide answers to the user such as how clothes need to be washed after looking at the label.

This morning Google announced this feature would be provided to all users for free on a tiered basis. Apart from camera access, Gemini Live can also understand what is displayed on the screen through the Screen Sharing feature. Also using Screen Sharing, Gemini Live will tell you what is displayed on the screen and provide related answers.

For example, you may be reading a news article about Tun Abdullah Badawi and you may direct Gemini Live to tell you about his background which may not be contained in the article in audio form.

The more interesting news here is that it is not only free but can be used on all Android devices that have the Gemini app. Previously the feature could only be used on Google Pixel smartphones and the Samsung Galaxy S25 series.
