We have entered the era of artificial intelligence (AI) agents being used to replace human workers. These agents are already supported by OpenAI, Grab and today also announced by Adobe. Today Google launched the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol that allows multiple AI agents to collaborate with each other.
This open source protocol allows agents that do not share a system, memory and network to collaborate with each other like humans. To enable a variety of existing systems to work with A2A, HTTP, SSE, JSON-RPC standards and more will be supported.
A2A is also supported by technology partners Atlassian, Box, Cohere, Intuit, Langchain, MongoDB, PayPal, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, UKG, Workday, Accenture, BCG, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, HCLTech, Infosys, KPMG, McKinsey, PwC, TCS and Wipro.
