In terms of design, the Infinix Note50 Pro+ offers a significant change compared to the previous generation, the Infinix Note 40 series. If before, the Note40 series featured a familiar curved body design, but InfiniX now brings a big change. This phone uses a frame construction based on Armor Alloy Metal, a premium material that is used for the first time in the Note series.

The use of this high-quality material not only gives a more solid feel but also makes the phone look more premium. The experience of holding it also brings its own uniqueness that combines an attractive design with more rugged durability. The construction of this phone is also equipped with a smooth plastic back panel.

However, it does not cause any discomfort, and even looks luxurious with a premium touch. Throughout this review, I find it hard to believe that this phone is in the affordable price category because it provides an experience as if using a flagship phone from a leading brand.

The phone is also completely flat on the front, back, and side frames. However, it is still equipped with curved side corners to ensure comfort when held, without causing discomfort even during long periods of use.

In terms of color options, this phone offers interesting variations including Enchanted Purple with a dark purple hue matched with a sand-like texture finish. This combination of color and finish gives an elegant and prominent style, but still looks simple without being excessive.

The waterproof rating on this phone has been improved to IP64 compared to IP54 on the previous model. This indicates that this phone is able to withstand splashes of water and rain. However, users are advised to be careful because this phone is not designed to be immersed in water. If it gets exposed to water, it is recommended to dry it immediately to avoid any damage.

The camera bump on this phone has been redesigned in the shape of a long octagon which is seen as different from other phones on the market. More interestingly, the bump also houses the Bio-Active Halo light. This light is not just a regular notification light, but is equipped with an additional function to monitor heart rate using AI technology.

In the comparison I made with the Apple Watch, although the readings are not completely the same, the average gap between the two is small. Although technology like this has been introduced by big brands like Samsung and Realme, its presence in the Infinix Note series is something new and shows Infinix's commitment to their users.

The screen provided on this device also makes it a suitable choice for various types of use. This phone is equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen which is quite large, making it suitable for watching video content, playing games, and doing daily work.

The AMOLED technology on this screen provides satisfactory display quality with vivid colors and high contrast. In addition, it is matched with FHD+ resolution with a bright display whether used for watching videos or browsing the web. It also comes with a 144Hz refresh rate for a smooth scrolling experience, making it suitable for daily work involving multiple applications.

Internal Hardware

This phone is equipped with DeepSeek R1 technology supported by the built-in Folax AI assistant. The presence of this technology is very helpful in my various daily tasks. To activate it, I just need to long-press the power button, and this smart assistant will be available immediately. It also leverages AI technology to provide practical convenience in various situations.

Among its main functions are AI summarization, which can automatically summarize long text content. In addition, there is real-time translation, where the phone's camera can be used to translate text directly. It also provides an AI writing function that allows me to easily produce captions or posts on social media without having to switch applications.

In addition, Folax is also able to provide realistic answers to the questions asked. Based on attempts in Malay, the answers given look realistic and complete with several useful resources that can be used for various reference purposes.

The phone is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chip, which Infinix says can provide good enough performance for multitasking and gaming. Memory options are also offered as high as 12GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage, as well as virtual RAM support up to 12GB of RAM to improve device performance.

In terms of performance, most daily activities can be carried out smoothly without any interruptions. Activities such as scrolling through social media, taking pictures, and listening to music through the Spotify application can be done easily.

However, it must be admitted that most modern phones are now equipped with specifications that are good enough to handle daily tasks. Therefore, choosing a phone today depends more on user preferences, whether in terms of design, additional features, or specifications that suit their respective usage styles.

The gaming performance using this device provides a good and satisfying experience for its segment. For example, the game Honor of Kings (HOK) can be played at a stable 60FPS when Performance Mode is activated. Although there is a slight drop to around 55-58FPS, it does not significantly affect the gaming experience.

With Ultra graphics settings, this device is able to reach a rate of 120FPS when playing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). Despite the instability in the readings, every movement in the game including clash situations during team fights, still feels very responsive. For heavy games like Genshin Impact which is known for its high graphics, this device is able to handle the game at a rate of 30FPS with a neat graphic display.

In terms of temperature, this device is able to maintain a warm temperature level during normal gaming sessions. However, when running heavy applications such as benchmark tests that require maximum performance from the hardware, the device temperature can increase significantly.

Internal Software

In terms of software, the Note 50 Pro Plus+ uses XOS 15 based on Android 15 with a minimalist interface. When you first open the phone, there are design elements that provide an iOS-like experience, especially in the notification panel. The layout of the system has also been neatly arranged, which makes it easy to operate without causing a feeling of clutter. Although the design of this software prioritizes the minimalist concept, it is accompanied by an interesting touch, and features modern elements in an attractive interface.

Camera and Image Quality

The Note50 Pro Plus is equipped with a tri-camera system. The 50MP main sensor uses the Sony IMX896 sensor with OIS. It also has a 50MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom capability and an 8MP ultra-wide for wide-angle shots. The 32MP front camera ensures that selfies can be taken in full detail. Video recording can be done up to 4K resolution at 60FPS complete with built-in stabilization.

The camera on this phone also offers various interesting modes with their own advantages to meet the needs of users' photography. Among them are Main Camera Mode (AI CAM). This mode can produce colors that look natural and realistic. For best results, it is recommended that you take pictures in bright sunlight because the dynamic range becomes more balanced.

With a 50MP sensor, the images produced are quite sharp. However, the zoom capability becomes limited when more than half the maximum range (for example, at 50x), where the image quality begins to decline and is not comparable to the zoom system on brands like Samsung.

Next is the Sky Shop mode, which offers creative features to change the sky in the picture. Although there are many options available, sometimes the results look like a patch, especially when objects in the foreground such as hills or buildings are not perfectly separated from the background. However, this function can be a space for users to experiment, especially for those who are creative.

AICGM Mode also leverages AI technology to produce special effects on the picture. There are only four AI filters available but its performance is modest in detecting the subject's face, with the AI face results being almost similar to the real subject's face for certain conditions. It is also suitable for occasional use, especially for portrait photos. If you have used AI Studio on Oppo devices, the experience offered by this mode has a similar experience.

Street Snap mode offers several filter options such as vintage and black-and-white that can give a unique and classic style to the photo. The vintage filter produces an interesting effect, while the black-and-white option provides classic results suitable for street photography enthusiasts. If you feel that the photos produced by AI Cam are less attractive, this mode can be used as a suitable alternative.

Finally, the Super Night mode, it does not offer any interesting additional features, but works to enhance the colors in the photo to make it look brighter. However, the experience of taking night photos using AI Cam is actually sufficient to get good results.

Battery and Charging

Infinix Note 50 Pro+ is equipped with a 5200 mAh battery. In addition, this phone supports 100W fast charging with several charging modes that are customized for user convenience based on their situation and preferences.

First of all is Low-Temp Mode, which is specially designed to ensure that the battery temperature remains low during the charging process. Then, Smart Mode offers a neutral mode that provides a balance between charging speed and battery temperature. Using this mode, the battery can be fully charged in about 44 minutes, which is suitable for daily use options.

Finally, Hyper Mode, which offers the fastest charging. Using this mode, the battery can be fully charged in just 38 minutes. However, I found that a more significant increase in the temperature of the device occurred during this charging.

In addition to the charging above, this phone also supports Wireless FastCharge 50W which is compatible with MagCharge. It is also equipped with a charger in the box, providing additional convenience to users. In addition, this phone offers reverse charging and reverse wireless charging functions, allowing users to charge other devices via OTG or wireless connections.

For users who like to play games, this phone comes with a bypass charging feature. This technology ensures that the power source will continue to be sent to the phone without going through the battery. With this feature, users can play video games while charging without causing the battery to overheat.

Conclusion

Overall, this phone is designed to meet daily needs and provide a pretty interesting experience. With features such as a large AMOLED screen, quality camera, satisfactory performance and long-lasting battery, it is suitable for various usage styles. In short, the combination of functions and design provided makes the experience of using this phone more enjoyable. Note50 Pro+ 5G can be purchased in Malaysia with a selling price of RM1599 (12/256GB).
