If you've built a desktop computer powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra 200 processor chips, Intel has announced that they have just introduced a new overclocking profile called Intel 200S Boost.
In short, if you have a computer powered by a combination of Intel Arrow Lake-K or -KF processor chips along with an Intel Z890 motherboard and DDR5 memory that supports Intel XMP memory overclocking technology, you can access this overclocking profile after updating your motherboard's system BIOS to the latest version.
You can then access the Intel 200S Boost profile through the Overclocking option in your BIOS menu, which will increase the base speed of your SoC chip from 2.6GHz to 3.2GHz and the die-to-die interconnect from 2.1GHz to 3.2GHz. Your memory speed can also be increased from 6400MHz to 8000MHz, if your memory supports it.
More interestingly, Intel also confirmed that using the Intel 200S Boost overclocking profile will not void your CPU and motherboard warranty, but said that components that are not part of Intel hardware such as memory, storage, power supplies and coolers are not covered under Intel's warranty, so users should be careful when enabling this feature.
Meanwhile, Intel also recommends that users use one memory stick per DDR5 channel, which means that for motherboards that would typically have four memory slots consisting of two slots for each channel, only one slot should be used for each channel.
Intel has also shown the models of processor chips, DDR5 memory and motherboards that support the Intel 200S Boost overclocking feature.
