Nintendo Introduces Lend Games to Friends Feature

Nintendo is introducing a feature to lend games purchased digitally to friends or relatives today. With this feature, games can be shared across Switch consoles and Switch 2. An update will be released in April to enable this feature.

Games in a player's library can only be shared with one individual at a time for 2 weeks. To prevent abuse, game sharing can only be done when the two consoles are in close proximity to each other. This feature is especially useful for those who have siblings, friends or children who want to play games that they have previously purchased but do not have physical cartridges.

Before a loan can be made, the individual must be added to the game owner's Nintendo Switch Family account. This is the same feature that has been available for Steam Families since last year.
