Safe Internet Campaign Launched by MCMC Provides Online Safety Disclosure



The Ministry of Communications through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) launched the Safe Internet Campaign at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bidor 2, Perak today with the aim of providing exposure on the importance of online safety and protecting oneself from cyber threats.


Throughout 2025, a target of 10,246 primary and secondary schools nationwide are involved in this campaign including SK Bidor 2. The campaign is participated not only by students, but also by teachers, parents and members of the school community such as the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG).


This campaign provides exposure on online safety, specifically to target groups according to age and role. Among the modules highlighted are the age limit for social media use and information on the prohibition of children under the age of 13 from having social media; the risks and threats of social media to children such as cyberbullying, sexual exploitation and abuse, hate speech and the role of parents and guardians in protecting their children.
