Gemini Advanced customers can now access the Veo 2 artificial intelligence (AI) model starting today. With Veo 2, customers can generate 8-second videos at 720p resolution in 16:9 aspect ratio and MP4 format. There is a limit to the number of videos that can be generated each month, but Google did not say what this limit is, only that notifications will be received when it is almost used up.
The Veo 2 generative AI was announced by Google in December last year, but access is limited to certain users with a long waiting list. In addition to being accessible through Gemini Advanced, Veo 2 can also be accessed through Whisk in Google Labs. Veo 2 can produce videos that look realistic and also in animated formats.
To access the model, Google says users just need to go to the AI model options menu located in the upper left corner of the Gemini Advanced page. Although Google says that Gemini Advanced customers globally can use it today, we did not find the Veo 2 model option in the website interface this morning.
