Last March 2025, Volvo Malaysia opened pre-orders for their latest Electric SUV, the Volvo EX 90. A month later, the 7-seater electric SUV was announced for the local market today at a price of RM 442,888
For the Malaysian market, the Volvo EX 90 is offered in one version, namely the Twin Motor Performance. This Twin Motor Performance version is a more powerful version, with 380 kW / 517 hp allowing for a 0-100km/h acceleration of 4.9 seconds. It has a 623km WLTP range with a battery capacity of 111 kWh and also a charging speed of 11kW AC and a fast charging of 250 kW DC allowing for a 10-80% charge in 30 minutes.
Standing proudly behind the slogan ‘the safest Volvo ever created’, the Volvo EX90 is packed with safety features, and is the first Volvo car to be equipped with a LIDAR scanner. Using laser scanning technology, the surrounding environment will be scanned to ensure the safety of passengers, both when driving or stopping. It can also scan passengers, and provide warnings if there is a worrying situation. With this LIDAR scanner, it even enables self-driving functions
The Volvo EX90 is sold at RM 442,888 and also comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, an 8-year battery warranty, 5 years of 24-hour assistance including free towing to the nearest Volvo branch, a 5-year free Google service subscription, and the first 50 buyers will receive a RM5,000 electric charging voucher and a sunshade that can be used for the EX90’s panoramic roof.
With Volvo Malaysia's announcement today, Malaysians now have more than 3 choices of 7-seater electric cars on the market, with the EX90 model being among the most expensive models, in keeping with the premium functions and features it brings.
